An interacting spin–flip model for one-dimensional proton conduction

چکیده
A discrete asymmetric exclusion process (ASEP) is developed to model proton conduction along one-dimensional water wires. Each lattice site represents a water molecule that can be in only one of three states; protonated, left-pointing and right-pointing. Only a right(left-) pointing water can accept a proton from its left (right). Results of asymptotic mean field analysis and Monte Carlo simulations for the three-species, open boundary exclusion model are presented and compared. The mean field results for the steady-state proton current suggest a number of regimes analogous to the low and maximal current phases found in the single-species ASEP (Derrida B 1998 Phys. Rep. 301 65– 83). We find that the mean field results are accurate (compared with lattice Monte Carlo simulations) only in certain regimes. Refinements and extensions including more elaborate forces and pore defects are also discussed. PACS numbers: 82.39.Jn, 02.50.Ey, 05.50.+q, 05.70.Ln

Calculation of Quasi-one-dimensional Interacting Electron Gas Using the Hartree-Fock Method
In this paper, the Hartree-Fock method has been formulated to investigate some of the ground state properties of quasi-one-dimensional interacting electron gas in the presence of the magnetic field. The bare coulomb interaction between electrons has been assumed. For this system, we have also computed some of its thermodynamic and magnetic properties such as the energy, pressure, incompressibil...

Introduction: Non-uniformity is one of the most important parameters affecting MRI images which can lead to harmful effects in the diagnosis and analysis of qualitative and quantitative methods. The present study introduced a method for measuring RF non-homogeneity in MRI systems. Methods and Materials: To verify the uniformity of B0 and B1 fields, a cylindrical phantom with a diameter of 24 c...
متن کاملNuclear spin-lattice relaxation in trans-polyacetylene (CH)x. A confined soliton model including nuclear spin flip diffusion
2014 A « confined soliton model » in which the solitons move over a small part of the chain is developed. The on-chain nuclei are relaxed directly by contact hyperfine interactions whilst the remainder nuclei relax via nuclear spin flip diffusion. It is found that the proton spin-lattice relaxation data can be rationalized in terms of the fast and confined one-dimensional hopping motion of the ...
متن کاملCalculating charge radius for proton with hyper central interacting color potential
An improved M.I.T. bag model with hyper central interaction is used to calculate the charge radius for proton containing u and d quarks. We present a theoretical approach to the internal structure of three-body hyper central interacting quarks in a proton, in which we take proton as a bag. We discuss a few of results obtained using a six-dimension potential, which is attractive for small separa...
متن کاملConduction electron spin-flip scattering by impurities in copper
We have measured the concentration dependence of the transmission conduction electron spin resonance linewidth of copper doped with Li, Zn, Ga, Ge, As, Ni, and Ti. In each case, we find a linear concentration dependence which allows us to determine a spin-flip cross-section, 03C3sf, for each impurity. These crosssections, together with those deduced from linewidth data previously published for ...
